The museum has a very kid-friendly area. Our boys are 5 and 8 and enjoy the play areas down stairs (especially the bubble cave). The model trains are also a big hit with the family. The train yard even changes with the seasons. If you visit now (Sept), there are new Halloween setups that you can operate with buttons.

Great location and original building. About half of the displays are paintings (and I'm not very much into modern art), about 15% are kids displays and the rest is local history. The kids areas are very fun--much more than most museums.

We live about an hour away and it was our first time here. Sweet little gem!! The first floor had some art and historic items mostly from the city and surrounding areas. But the basement!!!! It is spectacular for children! Puppet area, magnetic fishing, car racing, bubbles, building blocks, grocery store, model trains, and art room! One suggestion is to pay attention to when the train schedule is for the day, the village is still awesome to see but the train runs with a conductor. Highly recommend, 10 year old and 4 year old loves it!

Awesome place to take your children to learn and play. The gift shop is lacking Clarksville things to buy and other things to remember the museum. Overall, they loved it.

We love visiting the museum for free on Art Walk nights! It's always wonderful to see new exhibits and remember the old ones also. Very educational and a great learning experience for adults and children!

Do not take your kids here! There is no warnings about the full-frontal nudity "art exhibits" or all the other sculptures of fully nude people. Their website has no warnings or pictures about the full on, disgusting adult images. The kids bubble cave and activity room was right next to it. This is not a family friendly place! I can't believe I took my children there. Will never be back here. I will advise against this place to anyone who askes about it.

Wonderful museum! If you have children, this is a wonderful place to purchase a family membership (very reasonable)and take them on rainy days or when the weather does not permit you to be outdoors. There are also plenty of other historical exhibits that can be enjoyed by everyone, but more so adults and older teens as opposed to young children.

We spent more time than we expected to stay. Lots to see. Lots of hand on for kids. The whole down stairs is a play/learning area for kids. They have a full play grocery store. Train table, fishing area, blocks, play houses. Super clean.
